L'Oreal plans to buy Garland's SkinCeuticals

May 18, 2005

French beauty giant L’Oreal said Wednesday that it has agreed to purchase Garland-based SkinCeuticals for an undisclosed price.

SkinCeuticals is a privately held maker of professional skin-care products with 2004 revenue of $35 million.

It sells to dermatologists, plastic surgeons and high-end spas.

Founded in 1994 by former Southern Methodist University fraternity brothers Alden Pinnell and Russell Moon, SkinCeuticals will be part of L’Oreal’s active cosmetics division.

All 57 local workers will remain with the company, but the founders will depart when the deal closes, officials from both companies said.
